What a week!
I go to a track meet and end up, low and behold, at Magnolia Market. Go figure!?
Let’s back up. The Coach and I decided to support our awesome athletes at the State Track Meet this past Friday. We took the kids and all! Mainly because, well, where else would they have gone (we wouldn’t have been back to pick them up from school)? Secondly, because I want my kids to see and FEEL our occupations. Our jobs as a coach and teacher are unique in the way that we are always supporting, teaching, and loving on kids. I want them to know what it feels like to support something else than what they are currently involved in, and more importantly, support PEOPLE in their endeavors. Getting the focus off of “it’s about me” and onto “it’s about them”. So, off we went to support the coaches and athletes of our track team as they competed in the State Meet in Waco! It was so much fun watching them in action, and to be honest, it took me back to my running days! Just seeing the effort, the hard work, the determination, all coming together in ONE swoop. Awesome.
And, well, while in Waco…what else is there to do when waiting between events than to go to this little place that you may have heard of. Magnolia Market. Have you heard of it? Does Fixer Upper ring a bell? OH. MY. GOODNESS. I could live there. Really. Give me a pallet, pillow, and a bottle of water, and I can absolutely survive there. Chip and Joanna..if you are reading this, I will work for you! They say that Disney World is the happiest place on Earth. Well then, THIS is my Disney World.
Pictures don’t lie, folks. The scenery was great, the music was spot on, it was uber family friendly (duh), and the food from the food trucks was phenomenal (or so said the hubs and kids since I’m currently on a health escapade; more on that later). And oh, let us not forget, the MARKET! I could’ve walked out of there with everything, but I
couldn’t afford chose not to. Was this a pre-Mother’s Day outing? Who knows! But, I’ll take it!
I would say the kiddos had a lot of fun, too, which is a HUGE win!
This short family road trip was perfect for the start of May, and gave us a little one on one time as we push the pedal to the metal, prepare, and accomplish to-do lists for the end of the school year. It’s comin’ before we know it! Magnolia for the win, my friends.
Have a great week, loves!
